Blogger Crawl descends on Asbury Park
City featured on blogger sites from Monmouth and Somerset counties
It happened one day last week.
A group of women descended upon Asbury Park. To the naked eye, they may have seemed like a group of friends, who were simply weaving in and out of the shops, sampling the city’s eateries, and soaking in the local vibe.
In reality it was the Asbury Park Blogger Crawl.
The result – a mass postings showcasing the city by the sea across some of Monmouth County’s featured blogs.
“[We] scour the restaurants, shops, and bakeries to find the best that neighborhood has to offer,” said organizer Carrie Drazin of Fair Haven. “In doing so, the bloggers not only gather outstanding content for their sites, they also simultaneously support their fellow bloggers, attracting followers to each other’s sites through mentions and shares. It doesn’t hurt the community either -traffic to the site drives visitors to these towns.”
Every few months, this small, tight-knit blogger community, ranging in age from 17 to 56, collaborate on what they have coined the “blogger crawl.” Each season, they pick one town in New Jersey to feature on each of their participating sites.
“I wanted to create a community where fellow bloggers and I could bounce ideas off each other and get inspired from or with each other,” Drazin said. “It’s working and is a great way for the area to learn about what a blogger is and does.”
The inaugural blogger crawl happened in June and showcased everything Red Bank has to offer.
“Since Asbury Park has seen such growth and renewal in the past few years, we knew it was the perfect selection for our next crawl,” Drazin said. “The thriving restaurant scene also made it an excellent choice.”
