City receives $50,000 for boardwalk repairs
Grant is one of 25 dedicated to infrastructure work
Asbury Park is set to receive a $50,000 grant for boardwalk reconstruction, according to a state Department of Transportation [NJDOT] press release.
The grant is one of 25 bring administered by the NJDOT through the Local Aid Infrastructure Fund program, according to the release. Other municipalities are receiving grants to help with street repairs, drainage systems and railroad crossings. Airports and railroad lines are also among the recipients of grant funds.
“The range of these grants illustrate[s] how diverse modes of travel give shape to New Jersey’s robust transportation network,” NJDOT Commissioner James Simpson is quoted as saying in the release. “These grants promote air, rail and vehicular transportation, each of which plays a role in driving our economy.”
