39-year-old man shot on Washington Avenue Sunday
Victim sustained two gunshot wounds, one to each ankle

A man was shot on Washington Avenue in broad daylight Sunday, according to officials.
An emergency call was placed at 2:15 p.m. Sunday reporting a man had been shot on Washington Avenue, according to Charles Webster, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Emergency crews responded to 1208 Washington Ave. at 2:18 p.m., after they received the call, according to Garrett Giberson, a spokesman for the Asbury Park Fire Department.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they found a 39-year-old man who received two gun shot wounds, once to each ankle, Giberson said.
The victim was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center, according to Giberson.
Asbury Park Police are investigating the incident, Giberson said.
Giberson was unable to comment on whether there are any suspects or witnesses at this time.
Webster said Sunday evening the prosecutor’s office was still trying to ascertain the man’s hometown.
