About 450 homes in the northwest section of Asbury Park lost power this morning just after 10 a.m. Power was restored at 11:19 a.m., according to Jersey Central Power & Light [JCP&L] area manager John Anderson.

The outage was caused by a broken wire but the reason for the breakage is unknown, Anderson said. It was likely due to animal contact.

Roadwork on Sunset Avenue did not cause the outage, he said.
