The incumbent-led Forward Asbury Park ticket won the top-five ballot positions in today’s ballot drawing at City Hall.

City Clerk Stephen Kay pulled cards from a box to determine the ballot positions [pictured above and shaking the box at right]. Prior to the drawing, candidates could choose to be grouped on the ballot with their running mates. All four organized tickets opted to be grouped together. Two candidates are running independently.

On the ballot, candidates’ campaign slogans will be noted next to their names, Kay said.

The election is nonpartisan. Each voter will be able to vote for five candidates. A vote for one candidate is not a vote for his or her entire ticket.

The election’s five winners will begin their four-year terms on July 1. The winners will select a mayor amongst themselves. Historically, the top vote-getter has been chosen as mayor, but this is not a requirement.

The placement on the May 14 ballot will be as follows:

Susan Henderson — Forward Asbury Park

John M. Loffredo — Forward Asbury Park

Kevin Sanders — Forward Asbury Park

Gregory Hopson, Sr. — Forward Asbury Park

William D. Potter — Forward Asbury Park

Amy Quinn — One Asbury

Myra L. Campbell — One Asbury

Joe Woerner — One Asbury

John B. Moor — One Asbury

Talesha A. Crank — One Asbury

Randy Thompson — Your Voice Your Vote Be Heard

Harold V. Suggs — An Independent Doing Not Just Promising

Remond Palmer — The A-Team Uniting Asbury Park

Nora Hyland — The A-Team Uniting Asbury Park

Daniel Harris — The A-Team Uniting Asbury Park
