Martin: Incumbent-led ticket will maintain city’s progress
'Our city's transformation over the last few years has been undeniable'
Editor, the Asbury Park Sun:
As residents of Asbury Park, we have a lot to be proud of. We are proud to be a part of a
unique, budding community founded on tolerance and acceptance, where no two neighbors are exactly alike. People and opinions of all sorts are welcome here; creating a level of diversity that has not only become our city’s trademark, but also one of its many strengths.
However, most of us know that Asbury Park was not always the flourishing community it
is today. Our city’s transformation over the last few years has been undeniable. When I drive around Asbury Park, I see a greater police presence than ever before. Redevelopment downtown and along the waterfront continues to bring new residents, new jobs and a healthy variety of small businesses to our city. Now, more than ever, we have an obligation to maintain this progress, and by re-electing those responsible for the revitalization of Asbury Park we can do just that.
Opposing the sitting council are a collection of dubious characters, none of which
have a proven track quite like that of the Forward Asbury Park ticket. This ticket consists of Sue Henderson, John Loffredo, Kevin Sanders, Greg Hopson and Will Potter. I am proud of the progress they have made in Asbury Park, and proud to be a member of our growing community. Finally, I am proud to say that I will be casting my vote for Forward Asbury Park for Council on May 14. Let’s keep this train moving.
