Scotland: ‘One Asbury and the A-Team are out of touch’
Reader defends NYC fundraiser
Editor, the Asbury Park Sun:
I feel some people are really out of touch with the truth. Forward Asbury Park is putting on events every weekend. You can stop in their office any day of the week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On April 6, they had a free Grand Opening at their office located at 611 Bangs Ave. in Asbury Park. The entire community was invited to the event. It was on their Facebook website. It was packed with people from the entire city. People made donations there at their will and they also invited guests to other events. Mayor Johnson was there and endorsed their ticket.
I am not impressed with some people’s ignorant comments on the Forward Facebook page and their attempt at smearing the Forward ticket because they have nothing to offer. I’ve witnessed several times their incompetence and don’t think they can run a city. However, the incumbents Kevin Sanders, John Loffredo, Sue Henderson and the two new people on the ticket, Will Potter and my personal friend Greg “Pops” Hopson Sr., have a proven track record. They have made my neighborhood a better place. Juvenile delinquency is on a decline from 500 to 88 since the incumbents took office.
After reading a biased letter to the editor, I called Forward Asbury to find out why anyone would have a problem with accommodating tax payers who work in NYC but live in Asbury Park. They pay taxes here, invest here, and are just as much a part of this community as you and I. Also, it is people from all walks of life that work in New York and live here in Asbury Park. You have people who do maintenance in buildings here to lawyers, etc., that work in New York.
One Asbury and the A-Team are the ones out of touch and do not understand the range of people who live in Asbury Park. They don’t care about these people. They dismiss these people who are hard-working, blue-collar and white-collar workers, and neglect these voters just because they get home late travelling on the train back from New York City.
Forward Asbury Park has upcoming fundraisers every weekend in Asbury Park. Mr. Levinsky, if you would like to come, I will personally introduce you to this great group of people. If you want to RSVP to any event please call Jocelyn at the office at 732-719-2060.
