Boys & Girls Club to host community day block party

Event is 'free and family friendly'

The Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County and Triumphant Life Church will be co-sponsoring a community day block party this Saturday, June 15 at 1 p.m. outside of the club at 1201 Monroe Avenue in Asbury Park.

The event is free of charge and family friendly.

Those in attendance can expect “food, fun, friends, games and entertainment”, according to a press release from the club.

Event highlights include inflatable amusements, face painting, nail art, giveaways, health screenings, and Boys & Girls Club tours. Performances will be presented by Boys & Girls Club members including dance, step, and spoken word, according to the release.

Ijataque McClain, the state youth of the year, will be presented a proclamation by Asbury Park Mayor Ed Johnson and Senator Jennifer Beck, the release said.
