A 24-year-old Neptune man and a 25-year-old Lakewood man were shot while riding their bikes in Asbury Park early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred on the 1500 block of Summerfield Avenue, between DeWitt and Ridge avenues, around 1:30 a.m., according to Captain Anthony Salerno.

The Neptune man was shot three times in the leg and the Lakewood man was shot twice, also in the leg, said Salerno.

The two allege they were shot by someone driving by, he said. No information on the car is available at this time.

Both men were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune and are in stable condition.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Detective Darius Davis at 732-502-5770, or the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office at 732-431-7160.
