The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce bites into the city’s culinary scene with its inaugural “Restaurant Tour 2012: Destination Asbury Park” event featuring 25 food establishments.

The tour, scheduled for Sunday, April 29, from 12-4 pm, will feature small “bites” and sampling experiences at restaurants, lounges, juice bars and bakeries throughout the city.

Restaurant Tour wristbands will be sold in advance starting April 1 via the Tour website (www.loveasbury.com/tour) and by phone (732-775-7676). Price is $30. Only a limited number of wristbands will be available on the day of the tour.

Restaurant Tour “Ambassadors” — students paired with merchant volunteers — will be stationed throughout the city guiding food-lovers to sites on the tour. Tour guests will be provided a tasting guide and map of participating sites at the event.

Free transport will be provided to visit the venues. The Chamber will be awarding prizes at the end of the event including an Asbury Park Season beach badge.
