Suspicious vehicle sighting results in marijuana arrest
Man accused is Asbury Park resident
A city resident has been arrested by Ocean Township Police on marijuana charges.
Brian Conner, 23, is charged with possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a prepared release from Ocean Township Police.
Township Police Det. Sgt. Thomas Burke and Det. Jeffery Malone reportedly observed a suspicious vehicle parked in close proximity to a closed business on Allen Avenue Sept. 10, the release said.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the detectives noted “a strong odor of raw marijuana” they believed to be coming from the vehicle. Further investigation of the car allegedly revealed nearly a half-pound of marijuana packaged for individual sale, a large amount of currency and a utility razor, the release said.
Conner was released on a complaint summons to await a future court hearing.
