Officials from LiveNation are scheduled to deliver the final update on this weekend’s Bamboozle festival at tonight’s city council meeting.

LiveNation officials held a public awareness meeting last Monday. For the full story, click here. They also held meetings later in the week for local business owners. Officials anticipate 20,000 to 40,000 people each day of the festival, which will take place this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The festival grounds in northeast Asbury Park have a maximum capacity of 60,000.

The Bamboozle update will take place during the workshop portion of the meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. in city hall council chambers.

Other items on the agenda include:

• Changes in the ordinance governing dogs on the boardwalk. The original ordinance was written with a sunset provision, meaning it expired on April 30. The ordinance could be renewed with measures allowing dogs on the boardwalk — as long as they are leashed with their owners — until May 15 in future years. The ordinance is being introduced tomorrow, meaning a public hearing will likely be held at the following meeting. For a previous story, click here.

• Identification of smoke-free public areas. The city council is crafting an ordinance that will allow them to declare certain public areas free of smoking. Areas will be established through the passage of resolutions. In the workshops session of the meeting, the council will discuss which public areas should be smoke-free.

In executive session, which is closed to the public and starts at 5 p.m., the council will receive the Bamboozle final update before the public presentation; a valuation analysis of Vita Gardens and St. Stephen Manor; discussion of the Savoy Theater redevelopment; and an update in the litigation on the form of government.

City council meetings are held the first and third Wednesday of the month, with the closed executive session at 5 p.m.; workshop session at 6 p.m.; and regular meeting at 7 p.m. To see the agenda, click here.
