Langosta begins Valentine’s week with Couples Mala
A portion of event proceeds will benefit 180 Turning Lives Around
Langosta Lounge, an oceanfront restaurant and bar located on the Asbury Park boardwalk, has announced plans to kickoff its Valentine’s Day celebrations with Couples Mala, the fourth event in its Mala for Life series, according to release from a public relations firm representing the restaurant.
Commonly used as prayer beads in the Hindu and Buddhist religion, malas are made to keep count while reciting prayers, chants or mantras. The event will be led by host Krista Lynn Eggering of The Art Spa, who will guide couples and singles as they select their stones of choice, string a mala necklace and enjoy cocktails and complimentary fare while overlooking panoramic views of the Atlantic.
Langosta’s Malas for Life series aims to raise awareness for charitable and philanthropic causes that are close to the heart of New Jersey residents. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit 180 Turning Lives Around, a nonprofit organization that provides services and support to families and individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence.
“The Malas for Life series encourages the Jersey Shore community to come together to create a spiritual token in support of a charitable organization,” Langosta Lounge owner Marilyn Schlossbach said in the release. “Couples Mala will invite all – couples, groups and singles – to celebrate Valentine’s Day as they support a cause-worthy organization that works to better our local community.”
Couples Mala starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Tickets for the event are $50 or $70, depending on the mala stone of choice; $10 from each ticket sold will be donated to 180 Turning Lives Around.
Reservations are suggested. To learn more or to book a reservation, email Marie at mcoloreo@gmail.com or call 732-861-2421.
Langosta Lounge is located at 1000 Ocean Avenue.
