On agenda: Discussion and possible vote to change council meeting times

The city council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. There are no items on the agenda for executive session discussion. The workshop session begins at 6 p.m. and regular council meeting at 7 p.m.

Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda for both the workshop and regular meeting sessions include:

• A discussion about a potential shift in the time and organization of subsequent council meetings. The shift would see workshop and regular session meetings commence back-to-back starting at 6 p.m. Public participation would no longer take place promptly at 7 p.m., rather when it is reached as an item on the agenda. The item is also listed as being part of a resolution.

• A discussion about public meetings to be held by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

• A resolution on an appointment to the city’s zoning board.

• A resolution to ratify and reconfirm the termination of of a financial afreement with Esperanza Urban Renewal, LLC.

• A discussion about several returning special events, including the March for Babies, Blues and Brews Fest, Jersey Pride Triathlon, 25th Annual Asbury Park Jazz Fest, Born to Triathlon and One More Tri, as well as new event Rock the Truck.

• A resolution to transfer reserve funds from the 2013 budget to the fiscal year 2014 budget.

• Two public hearings are scheduled to take place, one on the continuance of the Asbury Park Police Chaplain program and one on Access to Premises.
