Two incidents of gunfire took place Tuesday, one in Asbury Park and one in Neptune Township, according to police.

A residence in the 600 block of Pine Street in Asbury Park was struck once by gunfire, according to Charles Webster, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Webster could not say what time the incident took place.

Within a “relatively close proximity” of time to the Pine Street shooting, police received a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Heck Avenue in Neptune, Webster said. The area lies on the Asbury Park and Neptune Township border.

No evidence of gunfire was found in the area of Heck Avenue and no injuries were reported in either incident, he said.

Webster could not say whether the two incidents were related.
