A fire broke out in a storage shed at the site of the Kingsley Arms apartment complex Wednesday, according to an Asbury Park fire official.

Firefighters responded to the two-alarm blaze shortly after 3 p.m., Asbury Park Fire Department spokesperson Garrett Giberson said.

When they arrived on the scene they found heavy fire conditions coming from a shed on the exterior of the west side of the building that housed an emergency generator, he said.

The nine-story building, located at 200 Deal Lake Drive, is owned by Sackman Enterprises and is currently under renovation. A limited number of residents live in the building and no injuries have been reported, Giberson said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Both Asbury Park firefighters and members of the Monmouth County Fire Marshals Office responded to the blaze. Firefighters left the scene around 4:30 p.m, Giberson said.
