At least 3 displaced in Asbury Avenue house fire
It is the third fire to take place in the city within 24 hours
A two-family house that caught fire Thursday morning has left at least three Asbury Park residents without a home.
Asbury Park firefighters responded to 1544 Asbury Avenue Thursday morning, according to an Asbury Park fire official.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire conditions on both the first and second floors of the home, located at 1544 Asbury Avenue, Asbury Park Fire Department spokesperson Garrett Giberson said.
The structure is “uninhabitable” and at least three residents have been displaced, he said. If they cannot find accommodations from friends or family members, the Red Cross will be contacted to provide care, said Giberson.
Asbury Park firefighters and mutual aid from surrounding companies responded to blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
It is the third fire to take place in the city within 24 hours. A storage shed at the Kingsley Arms apartments burned Wednesday afternoon and a vacant home on the 1000 block of Sewall Avenue caught fire later on in the evening.
