City resident allegedly found with 101 bags of heroin

24-year-old was taken into police custody Wednesday

A 24-year-old Asbury Park man was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance after police allegedly found over 100 bags of heroin on him.

Eugene L. Wilmore, of the 100 block of Prospect Avenue, was picked up by Asbury Park police Wednesday, according to a criminal complaint filed by the department.

The complaint alleges Wilmore was found in possession of 101 bags of heroin near the Bangs Avenue School.

Wilmore was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance [CDS], possession of CDS with an intent to distribute, and possession of CDS within 1,000 feet from a school.

Superior Court Judge Honora O’Brien Kilgallen set Wilmore’s bail at $60,000 with no option to post ten percent.

He is being held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution for $165,000 bail on an aggravated assault charge and also faces a charge of theft, according to the jail website.

Wilmore is scheduled to appear in court March 21, according to the complaint.
