Nonprofit group Interfaith Neighbors is hosting an informational program on April 30th at the Asbury Park Senior Center. Anyone who wants to find out how easy it is to become a Meals on Wheels volunteer is invited to attend, according to an announcement from the agency.

Attendees will learn about the nonprofit group’s nutrition program and have the chance to accompany a driver for one hour helping to deliver meals to homebound seniors.

Volunteers are asked to gather at the Asbury Park Senior Center, located at 1201 Springwood Ave. in Asbury Park, NJ at 9:30 a.m. Volunteers will be given breakfast during the program, before heading out into the community at 11:00 a.m.

Those who volunteer with Interfaith Neighbors deliver meals all over Monmouth County. The agency works with individuals’ schedules, whether they would like to volunteer once a week or every day. Participating in the March for Meals event will give potential volunteers the chance to test the waters to see if becoming a volunteer is right for them.

Registration is required for attendance, contact Sandi Silber or Sally Maloney at 732-775-0525 by April 22 to sign up.
