Dead body found in Deal Lake
Body was spotted in the area west of the train tracks by a fisherman
A dead body was found in Deal Lake Monday, Asbury Park police Chief Mark Kinmon has confirmed.
At 2:31 p.m. police responded to a report of a dead body found in the lake by a fisherman in the area, according to Charles Webster, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.
The body was found by police, floating in the drain runoff area west of the train tracks, Webster said.
No gender has been identified. An autopsy is schedules for Tuesday, he said.
Police have removed the body from the lake but still have the area of the lake near the Seventh Avenue boat ramp cordoned off as of 5 p.m. Monday.
The Asbury Park Police Department, Asbury Park Fire Department, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and medical examiners office are involved in the investigation, Webster said.
