Asbury Park Police have identified the dead body found in Deal Lake Monday as that of Arthur Ratcliffe, 62, a local homeless man, according to Asbury Park Police Capt. Marshawn Love.
Police were able to identify Ratcliffe through investigative leads, he said.
The body was spotted by a local fisherman who informed police around 2:30 p.m. Monday and later recovered by Asbury Park Police and fire officials, floating in the drain runoff area west of the train tracks near the Seventh Avenue boat ramp.
Police are not considering Ratcliffe’s death suspicious at this time, Love said.
