Jersey Pride Parade underway in Asbury Park
Procession ends at Pride Festival grounds, story includes link to parade photos
The Jersey Pride Parade is underway, passing through downtown Asbury Park on Cookman Avenue.
The parade route takes the procession north on Grand Avenue, where it will turn east at Sunset Park to the Jersey Pride Festival grounds in front of Convention Hall. The festival will conclude at 7 p.m.
This is a statewide festival and participants in the parade include local LGBT groups from Monmouth and Ocean Counties, as well as other organizations from elsewhere in New Jersey.

The Pride festival was first held in Asbury Park twenty years ago in June, 1992. The city has hosted every festival since.
The parade and festival take place under sunny skies with a high temperature forecast at 76 degrees and rain expected to hold off until the evening.
