Memorial Day fireworks to set off Sunday night

Monday morning ceremonies pay salute to veterans

Two Memorial Day services will be held in the city Monday morning and boardwalk redeveloper Madison  Marquette will host a fireworks display Sunday evening.

The Asbury Park Fire Department’s annual service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday. It will be held at Firemen’s Memorial Park, located on Main Street between Fifth and Sunset avenues.

The City of Asbury Park’s Memorial Day Service hosted by Asbury Park’s Harold Daley VFW Post #1333 will be held at Veterans Memorial Park on Fifth Avenue [two blocks east of Main St.]. That ceremony starts at 10 a.m.

Boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette will host a fireworks display Sunday, May 25. The start time is set for approximately 9 p.m, according to a special event application filed with the city.

Fireworks will take off from the Fourth Avenue beach.

Additional fireworks displays are scheduled for the Fourth of July and Saturday, Sept. 6, which is the Saturday of Oysterfest Weekend in the city.
