Below is the Allenhurst police blotter from May 27 through June 9. The information is published unedited from the Allenhurst Police Department:
MAY 27
While working a seat belt checkpoint, police stopped a 33-year old Sea Bright woman, after she nearly struck officers, standing in the roadway. She was believed to be under the influence of narcotics and was give drug recognition evaluation. She was processed and released to a responsible/sober adult, and her vehicle was impounded. She was issued summonses for failure to obey officer directing traffic, reckless driving, and driving under the influence. Ptl Scott Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by Det Dave Lipari.
While working a seat belt checkpoint, officers arrested a 23-year old Freehold man, after he was found to be in possession of marijuana, under 50 grams. He was processed and released on a criminal summons for possession of CDS. He was also issued a traffic summons for failure to wear his seatbelt. Ptl Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by Ptl Anthony Carafa and K9 Bia.
MAY 28
• Det Lipari assisted a neighboring town on a drug recognition evaluation of a subject.
• After stopping a 66-year old Asbury Park woman for speeding, she was issued summonses for driving while unlicensed, driving with suspended driving privileges, and speeding. She was processed and released with a pending court date. Ptl Marc Eustace was the investigating officer.
• Police investigated a complaint of an incident, at a Main Street business. No criminal complaints were filed and the matter was referred to the business owner to rectify. Capt Michael Schneider was the investigating officer.
• The Allenhurst Police Dept has officially deployed the nasal Narcan drug, into their everyday equipment. The spray is used to counteract the effects of opiates on the human body. “We do not have a big overdose problem in Allenhurst, but it has been used in the past, and it’s reassuring to know we have this tool at our disposal, should the need arise again”, said Capt Schneider. The drug has been used dozens of times, in Monmouth & Ocean counties to reverse the effects of the opiates and prevent, what would be, an overdose fatality.
MAY 29
• Police are investigating the theft of an unlocked bicycle, that occurred sometime between 5/25 and today. The investigating officer was Ptl Carafa. Police are reminding everyone to lock your bicycles, to deter thefts, even if they are unattended for a short time. “Patrols do an outstanding job of preventing these thefts, but unlocked bicycles, and garages, continue to put the police department at a disadvantage, when it comes to prevention”, says Capt Schneider.
• Police are investigating a reported theft, from a Main Street business. The police department already has several leads and the investigation remains open. Det Lipari is the investigating officer.
• While conducting a “click it or ticket” checkpoint, police stopped a 24-year old Asbury Park man for a seatbelt violation. He was found to have never had a license, and was also on the revoked list. He was issued summonses for failure to wear a seatbelt, driving while unlicensed, and driving with suspended driving privileges. Ptl Rapolla was the arresting officer.
JUNE 1
• Police responded to a report of a domestic incident. Neither party wished to sign complaints and the incident remains under investigation. Ptl Carafa and Sgt Rogers were the responding officers.
JUNE 3
• Patrols responded to a report of unclothed persons taking photos on the beachfront. Officers spoke to all involved and found it was a photo shoot for a magazine. All those photographed were found to be wearing swimsuits and the photos were viewed by officers, which showed none of the photos taken were of unclothed persons. Sgt Rogers and Ptl Rapolla were the responding officers.
JUNE 4
• Police responded to a Spier Avenue residence, for a report of a worker that fell off a roof. The worker was transported to a local hospital by Allenhurst First Aid Squad. Sgt Rogers is the investigating officer.
JUNE 5
• Police arrested a 21-year old Asbury Park woman, in Allenhurst court, when she was found to have an active warrant for her arrest, out of Deal. She was processed and turned over to Deal officers, in default of bail. Ptl Wray Burritt was the arresting officer.
JUNE 6
• Police arrested a 32-year old Raritan man, after he was observed urinating in public, on the Cedar Avenue jetty. He was processed and issued a Borough Ordinance complaint, with a pending court date. SO Hockin was the arresting officer and was assisted by Ptl Carafa.
JUNE 8
• Police arrested a 44-year old Brooklyn man, at the beachfront, after he was observed smoking a marijuana cigarette in a vehicle, as he passed by an officer on foot patrol. He was processed and released on a criminal summons, with a pending court date. He was also issued a traffic summons for having CDS in a motor vehicle. PFC DiBona was the arresting officer and was assisted by Ptl Lipari and SO Edson.
• After receiving a report of an assault, officers investigated the reported incident and found there was enough evidence to support the charge. Police arrested a 24-year old Allenhurst man for simple assault and making terroristic threats. He was processed and released on a $2,500 ROR, with a pending court date. Ptl Lipari was the arresting officer and was assisted by PFC DiBona.

Between May 26 and June 9, Police responded to 8 residential and commercial alarm calls. Police also arrested 2 other individuals, during the above time period, for various contempt of court warrants.
