Hotel Tides to host pool party benefit for The Center
Center clients' art will be on display and available for purchase
Hotel Tides will host their second annual pool party benefit for The Center in Asbury Park on Sunday, Aug. 3, from noon to 4 p.m.
About 70 pieces of art created by Center clients at a recent creativity workshop will be on display and available for purchase at the event. Ten percent of all sales proceeds will be donated back to the Center. Prices for the pieces range from $10 to $300.
The Center is a volunteer-based nonprofit service organization based in Asbury Park that provides support services for people living with HIV and AIDS, and their caregivers. Services include on-site housing and nutrition programs, referral services and other programming.
“It is so important to see the artists involved in the community, and in turn, for them to see a positive response to their involvement, ” said Steven Brunner, a local artist and co-facilitator of the creativity workshop.
A $25 suggested donation at the door comes with complimentary grill items, side dishes provided by Chat & Nibble, desserts donated by Confections of a Rockstar, an iced coffee station provided by Asbury Park Roastery, and free energy drinks.
Trained massage therapists will be on hand to offer chair massages for a suggested donation and a dunk tank will be on the premises. The Visiting Nurse’s Association’s HIV mobile testing unit will be on site to offer free rapid HIV testing.
Patrons are welcome to swim or just bask in the sun, but it is suggested those that attend the event bring their own towel.
“I am so thrilled to be able to throw this event again this year. My hope is that it grows annually and becomes an integral fundraiser for such a worthy organization,” said Ryan Jimenez, the hotel’s general manager.
Those who wish to attend are asked to email Ryan@hoteltides.com by Sunday, July 27, with “Center” in subject line.
For more information, call Jimenez at 732-897-7744.
