Seminar explores gender comm in the workplace

'Rules of working together' offers tips to forge positive relationships

On Thursday, Sept. 4, Jan Sparrow and Scott Asalone, co-owners of Words! Bookstore in Asbury Park, will discuss the challenges men and women face in understanding the “unwritten rules” of communication that exist between genders at a seminar held at the ShowRoom Cinema, according to news release from the city’s Business Development Center.

How men and women communicate can impact one’s success, not only at work, but  in everyday relationships and communication between women and men sometimes leads to surprising misunderstandings, the release stated.

At the workshop, Sparrow Asalone will highlight some of the interesting communication differences that exist between genders and offer communication strategies that can help form more successful and positive relationships at work and at home.

Sparrow and Asalone are international speakers, and experts on communication. For more then two decades they have researched, coached, and spoken about the myths surrounding communication.

The workshop is hosted by Monmouth County SCORE, and The Business Development Center of Interfaith Neighbors.
