Below is the Allenhurst police blotter from August 26 through September 5. The information is edited to meet Associated Press Stylebook standards but is published otherwise unedited from the Allenhurst Police Department:
AUG 26
• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Norwood and Corlies avenues. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle needed to be towed. A summons was issued to one of the drivers for failure to yield right of way at an intersection. Sergeant Rogers and Patrolman DiBona were the responding officers.
AUG 27
• Police responded to a report of a house fire on Cedar Avenue. The fire had started in a barbecue grill and spread to the side of the house. The officers were able to extinguish the fire before the arrival of the Allenhurst Fire Dept. Patrolman Eustace and Class II Special Officer Molinelli were the responding officers.
• Police responded to a Main Street business for a report of a dispute between an employee and a customer. The matter was settled while the officers were on scene, with no charges filed. Eustace was the investigating officer.
AUG 28
• After stopping a 31-year-old Maryland woman for a moving violation, she was found to be driving without ever having a license. She was processed and released on motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps, careless driving, and being an unlicensed driver. The vehicle and keys were released to a properly licensed driver. Patrolman Burritt was the investigating officer and was assisted by Eustace.
• Patrolman Carafa and K-9 Bia assisted Neptune City with a vehicle search, after a search warrant was granted by a Superior Court judge. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a brick of heroin.
AUG 29
• While working a DWI enforcement detail, officers stopped a vehicle for driving erratically, and took the driver, a 14-year-old Neptune girl, into custody, who had taken her mother’s vehicle, without her knowledge. A 17-year-old passenger in the vehicle was also taken into custody. The owner of the vehicle responded to headquarters and took custody of both juveniles. The 14-year-old driver was issued Allenhurst traffic summonses for maintenance of lamps, failure to signal a turn, failure to keep right,taking a vehicle without the owners consent, and driving while unlicensed. The juvenile has a pending court date in Municipal Court. DiBona and Rapolla were the investigating officers.
• Carafa and K-9 Bia assisted the Deal Police Department with the search of a vehicle. After a positive indication for narcotics on the vehicle, the follow up investigation was left up to Deal police.
• Police are investigating a report of fraud, after a resident showed officers a letter he had received in the mail, from a nationally known bank, which was obviously not genuine. The matter remains an active investigation and is being handled by Captain Schneider. The bank’s security department, as well as the U.S. postal inspectors, are also involved in the investigation.
• After finding a subject sleeping behind a Main Street business, police charged him with disorderly conduct, after he became belligerent with officers. He was transported to a local hospital, due to his level of intoxication. Patrolman Lipari was the arresting officer and was assisted by Molinelli.
AUG 30
• Police arrested a 28-year-old Asbury Park man on an active warrant out of Wall Township after stopping his vehicle for an equipment violation. He was processed and released, after posting full cash bail. He was issued Allenhurst summonses for maintenance of lamps and driving with a suspended driver’s license, pending a court date. Eustace was the arresting officer and was assisted by Molinelli.
• After stopping a 31-year-old Long Branch woman, she was found to be driving without ever having a driver’s license. She was released on summonses for an overdue vehicle inspection and driving while unlicensed, with a pending court date. Molinelli was the investigating officer.
• After stopping a 38-year-old Wanamassa man for an equipment violation, police found he was driving with a suspended driver’s license. He was released on summonses for maintenance of lamps and driving while suspended, with a pending court date. Molinelli was the investigating officer.
AUG 31
• Police are investigating an incident, involving narcotics, outside a residence on Cedar Avenue. The suspect fled from the officers on foot, and into the party, at the residence. The officers were unable to locate the subject, but have a good idea as to the identity of the suspect. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending, once the subject is apprehended. Responding officers included Schneider, Eustace, Rapolla, and Class II Special officers Hockin and Magner.
• Officers located an intoxicated 16-year-old juvenile at the beachfront. The subject was identified and turned over to his parent. The matter remains an open investigation, with possible charges pending. Eustace, Rapolla and Hockin were the investigating officers.
• Officers took a 16-year-old Oceanport juvenile into custody, and detained two others, after stopping them as suspicious persons. The juvenile was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released into the custody of an adult relative, with pending charges in family court. The other two juveniles involved were released on scene and their parents were notified of the contact by officers. Molinelli was the arresting officer and was assisted by Rogers and DiBona.
SEPT 1
• After stopping a 21-year-old Brooklyn woman for using a handheld cell phone, while driving, she was found to be driving with a suspended license. She was processed, and released, with summonses for using handheld cell phone, not wearing a seatbelt, failure to exhibit an insurance card, and driving while suspended, all with a pending court date. Her vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver. Rogers was the investigating officer.
• Police arrested a 42-year-old Long Branch man, after stopping his vehicle. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest, out of Long Branch. He was processed and released, after posting full cash bail. He was issued an Allenhurst traffic summons for improper display of his license plates. Rapolla was the arresting officer and was assisted by Rogers.
SEPT 2
• While on routine patrol, during late night hours, officers observed two subjects in a house, which was thought to be vacant. The subjects turned out to be workers, were staying at the house, during construction activities. The homeowner was advised by officers. Lipari, Eustace and Rapolla were the responding officers.
SEPT 4
• Officers responded to an Allen Avenue address for a report of a broken gas line. The Allenhurst Fire Department also responded. The line was found to be an old one and there was no leaking natural gas. Schneider and Class II Special Officer Edson were the responding officers.

• Between Aug. 25 and Sept. 5, police responded to seven residential and commercial alarm calls. Officers also responded to three noise complaints during this same time period.
• Also during this same time period, officers arrested three other individuals on various contempt of court warrants, one of which was committed to the Monmouth County Jail, in default of bail.
