On agenda: Vote to approve Monroe condo project for planning board review
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 5 p.m., followed by a workshop session at 6 p.m. and a regular council meeting at 7 p.m.
Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda for both the workshop and regular meeting sessions include:
• A presentation by Asbury Park Police Deputy Chief Anthony Salerno on a proposed handicapped parking space at 711 Grand Ave.
• The council will vote on several resolutions, including:
– a resolution to grant conceptual approval to a 34-unit condominium complex, the Monroe Condominiums, so that the project can be sent to the city’s planning board for further approvals.
– a resolution to adopt a corrective action plan in response to the recommendations noted in the 2013 city audit.
– a resolution to honor Mrs. Betty Williams as one of the city’s newest centenarians.
– a resolution to authorize the purchase of asphalt materials to pave several of the city’s alleyways.
– a resolution to authorize paving of several of the city’s alleyways through a shared services agreement with the county’s public works and engineering departments.
In executive session, the council will discuss contract negotiations with the board of eduction for a safe school resource officers program and the potential sale of the Park Avenue Firehouse, and several matters of litigation.
