Ocean Township Halloween curfew starts Oct. 29
Applies to all individuals under the age of 18
The Ocean Township Police Department will enforce a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Oct. 29 and ending Nov. 2, township authorities announced this week.
During the hours the curfew is in effect, no one under the age of 18 will be permitted on the streets unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Violators will be taken into custody, transported to police headquarters and held until they are picked up by a parent or guardian.

Every year during Halloween, some individuals have the idea that it is open season for vandalism and acts of criminal mischief. The Police Department encourages young people to have fun and enjoy the season, but damage to property will not be tolerated.
In accordance with Township Ordinance 3-19.1, there will be a curfew in effect beginning the evening of Oct. 29 through Nov. 1. from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. No one under the age of 18 years of age, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, will be permitted on the streets. All violators will be taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where they will be held until they are picked up by a parent or guardian.
HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS
• Have an adult accompany children, or travel with friends.
• Choose a costume that can be easily seen. White, Bright, Reflective.
• Children should use sidewalks and cross at corners.
• Discuss your child’s route of travel.
• Examine all candy and treats before eating.
