A-Team for council files late campaign finance report
Palmer also files late, board of ed members still have not filed
The A-Team slate in the city council race has filed its first round pre-election campaign finance report.
Remond Palmer, who filed as an individual candidate and is the ticket’s candidate for mayor, also filed.
The late filings were made on Oct. 22 with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission [ELEC]. Reports were due on Oct. 6. Filed reports for all candidates can be found on the ELEC website.
The other slate in the race — Asbury Together — filed their reports by the Oct. 6 deadline.
The report covers expenditures made and contributions received through Oct. 3.
Members of the A-Team’s city council slate are Duanne “King” Small, Kenneth Saunders, Jr., Derrick Grant and Rosetta Johnson.
The joint candidates’ committee filed a form stating they would not spend more than $12,300, which eliminates the requirement to file a detailed report.
The form also states the slate must file supplemental forms to disclose all cash contributions as well as any other contributions, made in kind or in currency in excess of $300, to ELEC. No supplemental forms have been filed, according to the website.
As well, the form states that any contributions or expenditures totaling $1,400 received between Oct. 22 and election day must be disclosed to ELEC within 48 hours of receiving the contribution or making the expenditure.
Remond Palmer, who filed as an individual candidate and is the ticket’s candidate for mayor, filed a form that states he would not raise or spend more than $4,500, which eliminates the requirement to file a detailed report.
The form requires any contributions made over $300 be disclosed and all cash contributions be disclosed via supplemental forms. No supplemental forms have been filed, according to the website. Any contributions or expenditures made in excess of $1,400 prior to election day must be disclosed within 48 hours of receiving or spending the funds, the form states.
The A-Team is also running candidates for the Asbury Park Board of Education. They include incumbent Felicia Simmons along with Stephen “Steve” Williams and Arva M. Council. Their joint candidate’s committee still has not filed any finance reports.
Eleven-day pre-election reports are due Friday, Oct. 24. A disclosure date of Oct. 30 is set for those reports, which cover the reporting period of Oct. 4 through Oct. 21.
