The election results from the Asbury Park municipal race are official as the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office has certified the results, according to the county board of elections office.

All five members of the Asbury Together slate — incumbents Amy Quinn and John Moor along with newcomers Joe Woerner, Jessie “Coach K” Kendle and Barbara “Yvonne” Clayton —swept the election. Voter’s selected Moor as their choice for the city’s directly-elected mayor.

The final vote tallies for the council members-at-large are Quinn with 1,687 votes; Kendle 1,627; Woerner 1,592; and Clayton 1,576, according to the Monmouth County website. Mayor-elect Moor’s total vote is 1,401.

A change of government referendum that cut short the terms of the current council members was voted through in November 2013 with 75 percent voter approval. Along with a directly-elected mayor, the referendum moved the city’s nonpartisan municipal elections from May to November.

Terms will now be staggered, with elections held every two years.

All five members will be sworn in to service on Jan. 1. Right after their swearing-in, lots will be drawn to determine which three council members will have  two year terms, and which one will serve a full term.

Moor was elected to a full term.
