Below is the Allenhurst police blotter from Dec. 18 through Jan. 1. The information is published unedited from the Allenhurst Police department.
DEC 18
• Police investigated a hit and run crash, which occurred on Main Street, involving a tractor trailer. The driver was eventually identified and was issued summonses for leaving the scene of an accident (with property damage) and failure to report an accident. PFC DiBona was the investigating officer.
DEC 19
• Police responded to the area of Lake Drive/Allen Avenue for a 911 call reporting a subject having a stroke. When officers checked the area and called back the phone number, the incident was found to be in another town.
DEC 20
• After receiving a call about a possible theft of bicycles in progress, officers apprehended 2 juveniles. A third juvenile was also identified during the follow up investigation. The two juveniles were taken to police HQ, and released into the custody of a parent. Criminal charges for trespassing, and theft, are being filed, against all 3 juveniles, with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Sgt Rogers was the investigating officer and was assisted by Ptl Vacarro, from Deal PD.
DEC 21
• After stopping a 30-year Colts Neck man for speeding on Ocean Avenue, police arrested him for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and found to be twice the legal limit. He was issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving, speeding, all with a pending court date. His vehicle was also impounded. Ptl Lipari was the arresting officer.
DEC 22
• Police investigated a domestic dispute that occurred on Main Street. It was determined that at no time was the dispute physical in nature, and both parties elected not to file for a restraining order. One of the individuals chosesd- to find an alternate place to stay for the evening. Ptl Eustace and Ptl Rapolla were the involved officers.
DEC 25
• During the evening hours, police responded to an Allen Avenue residence on a report of suspicious persons. While on location, officers determined the subjects were family members, of the homeowner, and had permission to be there. Ptl Burritt and Ptl Carafa were the responding officers.
DEC 26
• Police responded to a Corlies Avenue residence for a report of trespassing. A thorough check of the area resulted in no subjects being located. Ptl Burritt was the investigating officer.
• Police charged a 55-year old Asbury Park man with driving on a suspended license, after being stopped on a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and issued a summons, with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver. Ptl Lipari was the investigating officer.
DEC 27
• After stopping a 28-year old Spring Lake woman on a motor vehicle stop, police discovered she was a wanted person, out of South Carolina. The authorities were contacted and declined to extradite the subject. She was released with no local charges filed. Ptl Lipari was the investigating officer.
DEC 28
• While on routine patrol, officer came in contact with a male subject, in the area of Benson Park, who appeared to be disoriented. The subject advised officer he was trying to get home and was unsure of his whereabouts. The officer was able to determine the subject was attempting to get to an Asbury Park residence and took him home, releasing him to a family member. Sgt Rogers was the investigating officer.
DEC 31
• Police responded to the area of Ocean/Spier Avenues to take a traffic-related complaint. The incident happened well before the officers arrival and the complainant declined to pursue the incident further. PFC DiBona was the responding officer.
JAN 1
• After checking on a report of a suspicious vehicle, police charged a 49-year old South Toms River man with leaving the scene of an accident (with property damage) and failure to report an accident. The subject was released on summonses, with a pending court date, and turned over to Deal PD officers, who found the subject had crashed in their town as well. Ptl Lipari was the investigating officer.
JAN 2
• During the early morning hours, police checked on a suspicious vehicle, parked in front of a residence. The vehicle occupants, a 20-year old Ocean Twp man and a 17-year old teen, were questioned and eventually sent on their way. Ptl Lipari was the investigating officer.

Between December 17th, and January 1st, police responded to 5 residential and commercial alarm calls. During this period of time, Allenhurst officers also arrested 1 other individual on various contempt of court warrants. The Allenhurst Police Dept also had five instances of assisting another agency during this time period.
