The Asbury Park Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and their partners will host their second and final community-wide forum on the Boston Way and Springwood Avenue vision plan on Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m in Asbury Park Middle School’s multi-purpose room.

The forum brings together city officials, stakeholders, former Boston Way residents and community representatives to openly discuss the vision plan for the redevelopment of the area.

The now-vacant Boston Way complex is slated for demolition and housing authority members are now in the planning stages to decide will be built to replace it.

Tyrone Garrett, executive director of the Long Branch Housing Authority [LBHA], is hopeful the housing authority will be able to secure second round post-Sandy grant funds to offset project costs. The LBHA oversees the Asbury Park Housing Authority.

During the first public information session, Garrett informed the audience the housing authority’s goal is to try to have a plan in place for March 1.

The meeting is open to the public. Asbury Park Middle School is located at 1200 Bangs Ave.

For more information about the forum, contact Daniel Gibson, Jr., at 732-222-3747 ext. 129.
