The Allenhurst Police Department conducting the following from March 3 to 15:
MARCH 3
- A 39-year-old Newark man was issued a driving without insurance summons following a vehicle stop by Patrolman Michael DiBona. His vehicle was impounded.
- A 20-year-old Eatontown woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic needle, and issued a failure to keep right summons after police witnessed her driving erratically. Patrolman Marc Eustace was assisted by Patrolman Anthony Carafa and K9 Bia who conducted a search of the vehicle after officers smelled the odor of marijuana.
MARCH 4
- A 22-year-old Oakhurst man was charged with reckless driving, using a handheld cellphone while driving, making an improper U-turn, and driving with a provisional license violation with multiple motor vehicle violations after police observed him driving in a reckless manner. Patrolman David Lipari was assisted by Patrolman Eustace.
MARCH 5
- Police responded to a report of a verbal argument between a Page Avenue resident and a dog walker. The complainant only wanted the incident documented. Ptl Carafa was the officer involved.
MARCH 6
- Police responded to a Main Street business for a report of an injured customer. Officers found a highly intoxicated person who had fallen. The Allenhurst First Aid Squad responded and the subject was treated and released to a household member. Patrolmen Wray Burritt and Carafa responded.
- Patrolmen Lipari, Carafa, and K9 Bia assisted the Neptune Township Police Department in a mutual aid call for a large fight in progress.
MARCH 7
- After Patrolman Lipari found a water leak at the intersection of Hume and Main streets, the water company was advised. Later the same day Lipari located a broken water pipe at a Hume Street residence. He was able to gain entry into the residence, shut off the water, and advise the property owner.
- A 33-year-old Flushing, NY, man was charged driving without a license following a motor vehicle stop. The vehicles registered owner was issued a summons for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle by Patrolman Burritt.
- A 31-year-old Red Bank woman was charged with driving while unlicensed, after being stopped for an overdue inspection sticker by Patrolmen Lipari and Scott Rapolla.
MARCH 8
- A 30-year-old Long Branch man was charged with driving while suspended following a vehicle stop by Patrolmen Rapolla and Lipari.
- A 23-year-old Oceanport man was charged with failure to keep right, after being stopped for suspicion of drunk driving. A field sobriety test was administered, which he passed, and then elected to take a taxi home. Patrolmen Lipari and Rapolla were the involved officers.
MARCH 10
- A check of a suspicious person at a vacant house resulted in police finding an elderly woman who appeared confused. Officers followed the woman to her Wanamassa home and advised a relative of what occurred. Patrolman Eustace and Sgt. James Rogers responded.
MARCH 12
- A 26-year-old Manalapan man was charged with driving with a suspended license, after being stopped for an equipment violation by Patrolman Burritt. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.
- An investigation into a motor vehicle stop from the prior week resulted in a 20-year-old Brick woman being charged with hindering her own apprehension. Police determined the woman gave officers false information during the stop. She also was issued summonses for driving while suspended, failure to wear a seatbelt, and failure to exhibit a driver’s license, all with a pending court date. She was served with the criminal and motor vehicle complaints at the Monmouth County Jail by Detective Lipari and Patrolman Burritt.
MARCH 13
- Police responded to Lake Drive to investigate a report of a juvenile being taken to the hospital for a dog bite. Officers spoke with the dog’s owner, who was not immediately cooperative. The Monmouth County Health Department was contacted and advised that the dog be quarantined. With the assistance of the Borough’s animal control agency, the Associated Humane Societies, the dog was taken out of the residence and quarantined. Special Officer Whitney Molinelli, the responding officer, was assisted by Captain Michael Schneider.
MARCH 15
- A 21-year-old Maryland, stopped for a motor vehicle violation, was charged with driving without a license and issued a summons for maintenance of lamps by Sgt. Rogers.
From March 2 to 16, police responded to eight residential and commercial alarm calls, arrested three individuals on various contempt of court warrants, two of which were committed to the Monmouth County Jail, and had three calls for mutual aid assistance by other agencies.
