Tickets for the Fourth Annual Restaurant Tour are now available on line, said Jacqueline Pappas, executive director of the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce.

Held this year from noon to 4 p.m. April 26, the Chamber of Commerce sponsored event showcases each eatery’s cuisine via small bites, samplings and demos.

“Restaurants are the leading industry in Asbury Park at the moment,” Pappas said. “We are starting to get fans outside of a 20 mile radius and it’s a great day to show off what Asbury Park has to offer in general.”

The Restaurant Tour check-in tent will be stationed at Press Plaza located at 600 Cookman Ave. Patrons can pick-up or buy their $30 wristband tickets and tasting guide maps beginning at 11:30am.

The event features a secret word challenge, in which patrons collect a word from each participating restaurant, Pappas said.

Those who collect all the secret words qualify for a seasonal badge and $25 parking smart card. The prize is valued at $100 and two winners will be chosen, Pappas said.  Those who visit 15 or more restaurants qualify for one of three $25 parking smart card prizes.

Participating restaurants will vie for a marketing package prize, given to the eatery who best displays the spirit of Asbury Park.

Pappas said restaurants from throughout the downtown, waterfront, Main Street, and West Side neighborhoods are participating in this year’s event, highlighting the cultural diverse cuisine available throughout the 1.6-mile community.

Free tour transportation will be available and tour ambassadors[students paired with merchant] will help direct patrons to tour sites.
