Below is the Allenhurst police incident reports from Aug. 1 to 15:
AUG 1
• Patrolman Carafa and Special Officer Whitney Henry responded to the Allenhurst Beach Club, at the request of the management, to have someone removed from the club. The person left the club without further incident. Ptl Carafa & SO Henry.
• Patrolman Carafa and SO Whitney responded to the report of a distressed swimmer at North beach area. Upon arrival, the lifeguards already rescued the 35-year-old West New York man, who refused medical attention and left the beach after the incident.
AUG 2
• Patrolmen Carafa and Eustace responded to a Spier Avenue home for a report of a dispute between neighbors. The matter was temporarily resolved but turned over to Code Enforcement for follow up.
AUG 3
• Chief Richter and Patrolman Eustace responded to a Spier Avenue home for a report by a resident, who came home and found her front door open. A check of the entire home round everything in order.
• Patrolman Rapolla charged a 40-year-old Jackson man with driving while unlicensed, following a motor vehicle stop. He was released on a summons and the keys were released to a properly licensed driver.
AUG 4
• Patrolman Carafa and K9 Bia gave a demonstration at West Long Branch’s National Night Out event.
• Patrolman Rapolla charged a 37-year-old Bradley Beach man with driving without a license (never having a license) and driving while suspended following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed, and released on summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was turned over to a properly licensed driver.
AUG 5
• Patrolman Lipari was assisted by Patrolman Rapolla and DiBona charged a 17-year-old Brooklyn teen with careless driving and driving while unlicensed after witnessing the teen driving erratically. An investigation found that the teen’s vehicle struck a telephone pole in Loch Arbour and he subsequently left the scene. The case was turned over to Deal Police Department.
• Patrolman Burritt charged a 23-year-old Long Branch man for driving while unlicensed (never having had a license), after he was stopped for improper backing. He was processed, and released on two summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.
• Captain Schneider charged a 45-year old Jackson man with driving while unlicensed. He was released on a summons and the vehicle was turned over to a properly licensed driver.
AUG 6
• Patrolman Burritt charged a 29-year-old West Allenhurst man with driving while unlicensed. He was released on a summons and the vehicle was subsequently parked on private property.
• Patrolman Burritt responded to a Corlies Avenue residence on a report of a subject urinating in public. Upon arrival, officer found no subject and no evidence of the allegation.
• Patrolman Lipari assisted Deal Police in conducting a DRE evaluation of a driver who was stopped on Norwood Avenue.
AUG 7
• Patrolman Burritt charged a 52-year-old Brooklyn woman with being an unlicensed (never having had a license) after she conducted an improper turn. She was processed and released on two summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was turned over to a properly licensed driver.
• Captain Schneider responded to the scene of a minor two-vehicle crash on Elberon Avenue. No summonses were issued.
• Captain Schneider was assisted by Patrolman Burritt during the arrest of a 24-year-old Red Bank man found to have active warrants out of Aberdeen & West Long Branch following a vehicle stop. He was processed and released after posting a full cash bail.
• Patrolman Lipari and Special Officer Henry responded to the beachfront for a report of loud and disorderly subjects on the boardwalk. A group of juveniles were identified and their parents were notified.
AUG 8
• Patrolman Lipari charged a 22-year-old Neptune man with an inspection sticker violation and driving while suspended following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released on two summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.
• Patrolman Lipari responded to the beachfront area for a report of an over turned vehicle. An Asbury Park surplus military vehicle stolen from the city’s beach was discovered on the Deal beach.
• Patrolman Rapolla was assisted by Special Officer Henry in arresting a 38-year-old Asbury Park man discovered to be driving while suspended and driving without a license (never having had a license] following a motor vehicle stop for a registration issue. He was processed and released on four summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.
• Patrolmen DiBona and Rapolla issued summonses to a 23-year-old Ocean Township woman for maintenance of lamps, expired registration, being an unlicensed driver (never having had a license), failure to dim high beams, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after attempting to stop her for an equipment violation. She drove into North End of Deal before stopping. She was released with a pending court date.
AUG 9
• Patrolmen DiBona and Special Officer Henry charged a 22-year-old Long Branch woman for marijuana possession following a motor vehicle stop for a registration issue. She was processed and released with three traffic summonses and one criminal complaint.
• Patrolman Eustace took a report of a parked vehicle struck on Allen Avenue. No summonses were issued.
AUG 10
• Officers responded to the Kearney Bank for a report of a fire alarm activation. Upon arrival they found a smoke condition inside. The Allenhurst Fire Department also responded and requested the Deal Fire Department assistance. The smoke condition was ventilated and was found to be a minor mechanical issue.
• Chief Richter was assisted Patrolman Eustace in charging a 38-year-old Brooklyn man for speeding and driving an unregistered vehicle. He was released on two summonses and the vehicle was parked on private property. A follow-up investigation failed to show any active insurance and the driver was issued two additional summonses, with a mandatory court date. The vehicle’s registered owner was also issued a summons.
AUG 11
• Patrolman Carafa & K9 Bia participated in a New Jersey State Police in-service training.
• Chief Richter charged a 46-year-old Brooklyn man for using a handheld cellphone while driving and for having a suspended driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released on two summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.
• Patrolman Rapolla charged a 19-year-old Deal man with speeding violation, for being an unlicensed driver (never having had a license) and driving while suspended. He was processed and released on 3 traffic summonses, with a pending court date. The vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.
• Patrolman DiBona charged a 37-year-old West Long Branch female on warrants out of Allenhurst and Eatontown following a motor vehicle stop. She was released on her own recognizance.
AUG 13
• Patrolman Burritt arrested a 35-year-old Wall man on an active Asbury Park warrant following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed, and released on full cash bail.
• Sgt. Rogers is investigating a reported larceny that occurred at the Citgo gas station, on Main Street.
• Captain Schneider and Patrolman Burritt responded to the Allenhurst beach area for a report of trespassers. A trespasser was identified and voluntarily agreed to leave the area.
AUG 14
• Captain Schneider and Patrolman Burritt responded to the Beach Club area for a report of trespassers. The subjects were identified, advised of the complaint and voluntarily agreed to leave the area. No charges were filed.
• Captain Schneider was assisted by Patrolman Lipari in the arrest of a 33-year-old Ocean Grove woman who was driving while unlicensed. She was released on a summons and the vehicle was released to a properly licensed driver.
AUG 15
• Patrolman Lipari, assisted by Patrolman Carafa and Special Officer Henry, charged a 26-year-old West Long Branch man with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to keep right, maintenance of lamps, failure to exhibit documents, and refusal to submit to breath testing after officers observed his vehicle moving erratically. The vehicle was impounded and he was processed and released to a responsible sober adult.
• Patrolmen Burritt and Special Officer Butler responded to the Allenhurst beach area for a report of trespassers. The subjects were identified, advised of the complaint, and agreed to leave the area, with no charges filed.
From August 1st-15th police responded to eight residential and commercial alarm calls; reported four ordinance violations; responded to seven noise related complaints; arrested one other individual on various contempt of court warrants, none of which were transported to the Monmouth County Jail, in default of bail; and had two instances of assisting another agency.
