Budget, Bradley Cove, Route 71 improvements on agenda

The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday in council chambers at City Hall. A closed executive session will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by a public workshop session at 6:30 p.m. and the regular council meeting at 7 p.m.

Public participation takes place at the beginning of the regular meeting. Items on the agenda include:

• Executive session discussions regarding the City Manager, Director of Communications, Director of Commerce, and Chief of Police positions.

• Contract negotiations discussions include the Lake Group’s proposed property transfer, Carter Sackman’s Savoy Theater, Cross River Fiber’s use of city rights of way, and insurance broker and finance advisor agreements.

• Litigation discussions regarding the Abbot, Lomack, and Hollo cases continue as well as the Famularo Disciplinary Proceeding.

• The workshop session includes a review/follow-up of matters discussed during Tuesday’s workshop meeting.

• The regular session includes a public hearing and adoption of the 2015 Municipal Budget Amendment. The $42.7 million budget includes a $455,000 drop in the state’s transitional aid allotment and $15.3 million to be raised by taxation.

• Votes include those for a new Zoning Board of Adjustment member, approving the 2015-2016 Liquor License agreements, the Bradley Cove Monmouth County Open Space application, a resolution approving, in-part, Monmouth County’s rehabilitation of Route 71, and a NJ Department of Transportation grant application for the Fourth Avenue improvements.
