Langosta Lounge Thanksgiving Dinner aims to meets needs
Free Holiday Dinner, Clothing and Food Drive on the Menu
Langosta Lounge has announced that its annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the oceanfront eatery.
Since its 2006 inception, the Community Dinner has served as a resource for hundreds of people who seek a home-cooked meal and/or warm, lightly worn clothing and coats. Canned goods will also be collected and sorted during the event.
“Our Thanksgiving Community Dinner aims to alleviate some of the financial stress that so often comes along with the holiday season,” owner Marilyn Schlossbach said. “By offering people the comforts associated with Langosta Lounge, we aim to provide a family-friendly environment that offers a warm and inviting holiday experience to those who need it.”
Langosta Lounge will partner with Pat Sherman of Trinity Church to host the community dinner, said spokesperson Amanda Billingham.
The Thanksgiving dinner will feature all the holiday staples, as volunteers serve table-side coffee and beverages, pack take-home meals, sort the canned goods and winter clothing.
Anyone interested in donating turkeys, cooked hams and desserts for the meal as well as lightly worn warm clothing and coats for the clothing drive may do so until 8 p.m. Nov. 24; but cooked turkeys will be accepted until 8 p.m. Nov. 25.
Langosta Lounge, located at 1000 Ocean Avenue, also hosts complimentary community dinners Christmas and Easter.
