Langosta Lounge hosts annual Christmas Dinner and Cheer
Wrapped toy donations accepted until 8 p.m. Thursday
Langosta Lounge at the Asbury Park Boardwalk announced Tuesday that its annual Christmas Community Dinner will be served from noon to 4 p.m. Christmas Day.
The eatery partners with Pat Sherman of Trinity Church to host the holiday event, which includes the free family-style meal; a visit by Santa, who will disperse donated toys; and a selection of warm, lightly worn clothing and coats.
The restaurant will accept newly wrapped toys tagged with the appropriate age range until 8 p.m. Thursday.
Anyone in need of a hot meal or the company of the community is invited to attend, owner Marilyn Schlossbach said.
“Our Christmas Community Dinner aims to alleviate some of the everyday financial stress felt by so many in the Jersey Shore community,” Schlossbach said. “By offering people the comforts associated with Langosta Lounge, we aim to provide a family-friendly environment that offers a warm and inviting holiday experience to those who need it most.”
The annual Christmas holiday meal began in 2006. Guests enjoy a hearty helping of holiday staples as volunteers serve table-side coffee and beverages, pack take-home meals, and sort the donated winter clothing.
In addition to the Christmas Community Dinner, Schlossbach serves hundreds of complimentary meals to community members on Thanksgiving and Easter.
Langosta Lounge is located at 1000 Ocean Avenue inside the Third Avenue Pavilion along the Asbury Park boardwalk. For more information, call (732) 455-3275 or visit their website or Facebook page.
