Two city residents were arrested following a multiple stabbing Saturday afternoon along Bangs Avenue, Asbury Park Police Department spokesman Michael Casey said.

Angela Mowery-Davis, 45, of Asbury Park was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of weapon.

Bernard Nicholl, 51, of Asbury Park was charged with simple assault.

Police were called near 3:38 p.m. Saturday to the 1200 block of Bangs Avenue by a third party anonymous caller reporting there was a stabbing victim at a residence.

“Initial officers at the scene observed a victim with multiple stab wounds,” Casey said.

Casey would not identify the victim in the domestic abuse case, only saying that he was a 39-year-old white male who lives in Asbury Park.

The police investigation found that the victim had been engaged in a verbal altercation with Nicholl when it turned physical and Nicholl assaulted the victim, Casey said.

Mowery-Davis assaulted the victim by stabbing him multiple times.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released.

Both Nicholl and Mowery-Davis were remanded to Monmouth County Jail in lieu of bail, $1,500 and $20,000, respectively.
