Madison seeks longer hours for Food Truck Court
North Eats would operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Asbury Park’s North Eats Food Truck Court could stay open longer should the City Council approve boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette’s proposal to do so.
In a presentation before the governing body Monday night, Madison’s Director of Retail Carrie Turner asked that the opening and closing hours be extended by one hour.
“A lot of the other establishments along the boardwalk are open longer so we are just trying to match that,” she said.
This would place the hours of operation from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the trucks arriving and leaving an hour before and after the new time frame.
“What we saw was a bump in dinner traffic,” she said.
Turner said she would mandate that all participating food trucks stay open for the duration of the operating hours.
A request was also made to extend the 2-year approval the governing body gave in April to match the Planning Board’s 6-year approval.
Madison Marquette would also need to seek Planning Board approval for the extended hours.
