The Asbury Park Community Action Network [CAN] is sponsoring an expungement information session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen AMEZ Church.

Expungement asks courts and/or law enforcement agencies to modify, seal, or eliminate criminal records. Once complete, a criminal record cannot be viewed by the public and recipients do not have to disclose past criminal activity to employers or landlords.

Asbury CAN is comprised of city residents, clergy, and officials who seek to reduce violence in the 1.6 square-mile community. The offer support with health, law enforcement, job, family, housing and education.

The information session is open to youth and adults. Attorneys will be on hand to discuss cases and help with the process.

St. Stephen’s is located at 1001 Springwood Ave. To RSVP, call 732-361-0952.
