Motor vehicle stop leads to drug possession arrests
Pair charged with crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia possession
An early Sunday morning motor vehicle stop for speeding led to the arrest of a Tinton Falls and Ocean Township resident, Deal Police Department reports.
Kelsey Jiorle, 25, of Tinton Falls and Eric Xenakis-Schneider, 22, of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township were charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance [CDS] – crack cocaine, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of hypodermic needles, failure to turn over CDS to police, and multiple motor vehicle violations
While on patrol in Interlaken, Sgt. Matthew Sharin observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Grassmere Avenue, according to news release.

On March 27, 2016 at approximately 1:55 a.m., Sgt. Matthew Sharin was on patrol in the Borough of Interlaken when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Grassmere Ave. Sgt. Sharin then initiated a motor vehicle stop on Windermere Ave with the assistance of Ptl. Kerney.
A subsequent investigation, conducted by Sgt. Sharin, Ptl Kerney, Ptl Lokerson and K-9 Atok, revealed the occupants of the vehicle were in possession of controlled dangerous substances, drug paraphernalia and hypodermic needles. The accused parties were placed under arrest and transported to Deal Police Department Headquarters for processing.
The accused were released on a criminal complaint, with a pending court date.
