The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.

A public participation session is scheduled to take place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials.

Items on the agenda for the meeting include:

• Special event requests include Triumphant Life Church’s May 26 to 30 Carnival in Bradley Park; May 22 Red Moon Life and Home Bangs Avenue Block Party between Emory Street and Cookman Avenue; May 20-22 Jersey Shore Inaugural Maifest and Beer Run sponsored by the Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten in conjunction with the House of Independents. The family friendly event is a spring celebration complete with polka bands, traditional games, keg tapping and Austro-Hungarian foods at Press Plaza between Lake and Cookman avenues.  The Bier Run is slated for 7 to 11 a.m. May 21 along Lake Avenue between Emory Street and St. James Place.

• The Asbury Park Promenade of Mermaids seeks use of the boardwalk from Convention Hall to the Casino for its annual costume contest from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 27; a Super Safe Summer Event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Atkins and Springwood avenues to help educate parents on the summer programs available for their children; an 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Month of the Young Child Parade hosted by the school district. The procession travels from Grand Avenue to Atlantic Park.

• Garden State Equality seeks approval to hold its 7th Annual Equality Walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18 from Kennedy Park to Convention Hall on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. There are two wedding applications for use of the Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue beaches.

• City Manager Michael Capabianco is expected to discuss Workforce Development, Police Accreditation, a Licensed Site Remediation Professional for the Department of Public Works Garage, and a Financial Management Consultant.
