Teens, ages 16 to 19, charged with underage drinking
All released to parent or guardian following Darlington Road party
A group of teens were charged March 28 with underage drinking after Patrol Officers Nicholas Dowling detained one of them near 11:52 p.m. for trespassing in the area of Darlington Road and Ocean Avenue, Deal Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brian Egan said in a news release
Further investigation revealed that the teen had left a large party at a residence on Darlington Road. A subsequent investigation conducted by Dowling, Sgt. James Ammaturo, and Ptl. Joseph Ammaturo revealed a large underage drinking party was underway. Upon arrival, several subjects fled on foot and were eventually apprehended by Deal officers with the assistance from Allenhurst Police Sgt. James Rogers, Ptl. Mike DiBona and Ocean Township Ptl. Karen Noel.

Rocco Cantaffa, 18, of Oceanport was charged with making a place available for underage consumption of alcohol, consuming alcoholic beverages while under the legal age, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 16-year-old Asbury Park male was charged with underage consumption of alcohol, obstruction, resisting arrest, and being a disorderly person. He was processed and released to a parent. All other parties were either issued a summons for possession or consumption of alcohol under the legal age or released to a parent or guardian.
