Ocean Grove Man jailed for invasion of privacy
Reynolds, 56, placed mirror on floor to spy on female shoppers
An Ocean Grove man was charged Monday with invasion of privacy following the investigation into an April 30 incident at the local Target, according to Ocean Township Police spokesman Timothy R. Torchia.
Julius G. Reynolds, 56, was arrested near 1:10 p.m. Monday following an investigation by Detective Michael Melody and Detective Michael Acquaviva of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, according to a news release.
From the news release:
On April 30, 2016 Officer James Woodley responded to the Target Store in reference to an incident involving the invasion of one’s privacy. The incident was reported by a Target Security representative. During Officer Woodley’s investigation he learned that a male subject posing as a shopper was inappropriately looking a female shoppers by use of a hand held mirror.
The male subject, later identified in the investigation as Julius G. Reynolds, had the mirror in a basket that was then placed on the floor of the woman’s clothing section. He would then use the mirror to inappropriately look at female shoppers as they browsed the clothing on the racks.
Reynolds was remanded to Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash only bail set by Judge Timothy McGoughran.
