Asbury Park Live Summer Concert Series returns

Free outdoor performances features new wave of local musical talents

Held every Wednesday evening from 7 to 10 p.m., the Asbury Park Live family-friendly outdoor concert series returns June 22 to First Avenue Greenspace at the corner of First and Ocean avenues.

The free 10-concert series, held next to MOGO Korean Fusion Tacos at 850 Ocean Ave., features a diverse lineup of talent performing their rock, funk and jazz compilations, according to a news release.

This showcase of the city’s burgeoning musical talents runs through Aug 31, in collaboration with Asbury Park Boardwalk, Asbury Park LIVE! Today, the Foundation and partners, MOGO Korean Fusion Tacos, Watermark, Lakehouse Music Academy, Bands on a Budget, Humble Humans, Asbury Park Brewery and Pepsi.

Proceeds raised through beer, taco, and merchandise sales will benefit the Asbury Park Music Foundation’s Youth Initiative Program, which provides music education programming, lessons, and instruments to the city’s youth. Asbury Park Brewery launches their beer for sale July 6th.

The concert series kicks off with a performance from the Lakehouse Music Academy Pros, a group of young musicians performing classic covers and today’s hits.

Concert attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the open lawn setting.
