The 6 p.m. Monday night free Levitt AMP Asbury Park Music Series concert features Dr. Cheeko and The Island Sound, with an opening performance by local reggae band Random Test at Springwood Park [between Atkins and Union avenues]. The Asbury Park Music Foundation administered series is supported by Interfaith Neighbors, and sponsored in part by the Asbury Park Press and New Jersey Natural Gas. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Free parking is available in the lot across from the park.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday Francis Asbury will hold its Annual Summer Fair Shopping Extravaganza. Sale items include attic treasures, jewelry, Christmas and other holiday items, linens, books, CDs, DVDs, videos, White Elephant, fresh produce, plants, baked goods, and gently used clothing. Lunch purchases will be available Thursday. Sponsored by the Service Auxiliary of United Methodist Communities at Francis Asbury, proceeds support the Fellowship Fund, which serves as a financial safety net to support its charitable mission. Francis Asbury is located at 70 Stockton Avenue, between Pilgrim Pathway and New York Avenue in Ocean Grove.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday St. Stephen AMEZ Church, [1001 Springwood Ave, Asbury Park] will host an Expungement Services workshop. Sponsored by Asbury CAN, the event offers legal guidance in clearing criminal records in order to help individuals get a jobs, qualify for credit, vote, gain housing, and other opportunities that are denied to those with a criminal record. From 8 to 9 a.m. the Friends of the Asbury Park Dog Beach will host their third Meetup and Cleanup event of the summer season. Volunteers are asked to meet at the north end of the boardwalk, across from the Asbury Tower. Organizers recommend wearing old clothes, bringing gloves and any necessary tools to help clean up the beach.

The Ocean Township Police Department is accepting resumes for a School Crossing Guard. The position is for the 2016-17 school year. Requirements include being at least 18 years old, a citizen and resident of this State, in sound body and of good health, and of good moral character, according to officials. Individuals convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude are restricted. Asbury Park resident Sylvia L. Breitowich joins the Davison, Eastman & Muñoz law firm’s Family Law Department, working out of their Freehold and Toms River offices. Breitowich is experienced in domestic violence litigation, having worked in the Domestic Violence Clinic at Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, where she attained her law degree in 2008. She also represents clients in other matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, adoptions, guardianships, matters involving the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, post judgment matters and relocation issues. Breitowich, who is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, was previously at Weinberger Law Group.
Back to School:
Asbury Park based nonprofit The Charity Kings is in the midst of their Annual Back to School Supply Giveaway collection. The organization is in need of school supplies, backpacks, clothing, school uniforms, shoes, hair supplies, and gift cards, organizers said. Monetary donations also are accepted. The nonprofit also hosts the annual Wish upon a Prom event, free Family Day, holiday drives, recreational activities, one on one tutoring, and financial assistance to families throughout Monmouth County, but primarily to those residing in Asbury Park, Belmar, Long Branch, Neptune and Red Bank, officials said. Monmouth County Brandywine Senior Living communities are holding a Back to School Supply Drive to benefit Asbury Park students. Residents and team members at Brandywine Living’s Monmouth County locations have partnered with Asbury Park elementary schools, organizers said. Basic school supplies – pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, erasers, folders, notebooks, dry erase markers and erasers, as well as everyday items, like tissues and hand sanitizers will be accepted. Volunteer:
Monmouth County nonprofit 180 Turning Lives Around is accepting applications for its Fall 2016 volunteer Domestic Violence Response Team 40-hour training program. The private nonprofit provides support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence in the aftermath of a highly emotional and traumatic experience with the assistance of its response team volunteers. The training program runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday thru Thursday at the Wall Township Police Headquarters, 2700 Allaire Road. Victim Advocate applications will be accepted until September 21st.
