Gallery: Asbury Park Promenade of Mermaids
Hundreds turn out for showcase along the Asbury Park Boardwalk
The Annual Asbury Park Promenade of Mermaids returned Saturday to the Asbury Park Boardwalk, bring with it an array of aquatic themed characters. This year’s Grand Marshal was Vivi Noir, producer of Le Vaudeville Noir, director of The Noir Follies, and owner of South Jersey Dance Theatre. The contest was judged by Parlor Gallery’s Jenn Hampton, Dr. Sketchy himself – Tim Lucas, and freelance writer and actor Stephanie Silk, who co-stars in the award-winning indie feature Let Me Down Hard. Vendors selling mermaid art and jewelry, face painters, were on hand at Lightly Salted surf shop in the Second Avenue Pavilion along the Asbury Park Boardwalk and Asbury Park Yacht Club hosted an after party with DJ Don Dazzo.
