March2Success offers free online study aid
Ages 13 and older can access Practice Tests & College Prep tools
A free US Army program brings study aids directly to the fingertips of students via its online March2Success.com website.
The site offers standardized test prep and study programs to middle and high school students, those preparing for college entrance exams, or looking to improve English, math and science skills, officials said in a news release.
“March2Success is the Army’s gift to public education,” Tony Castillo, chief of education for U.S.Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, said in the written statement. “We want students to stay in school and be qualified for life, whether they decide to join the Army or not. We want them to have every opportunity to become productive members of society.”
In addition to test prep and self-paced study programs, the site offers seven full-length practice tests for the SAT and ACT, and an entire section is dedicated to science, technology, engineering and math [STEM] coursework.
It features tabs on economics, financial accounting, calculus and physics; and offers nursing entrance exam practice test for PAX-RN, PSB Registered Nursing School Aptitude.
College application guides and monitoring tools can help parents and educators track a student’s progress, test scores and completed lessons.
The curriculum, designed by Peterson’s and the College Options Foundation and while March2Success includes the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, it is not part of a military recruiting effort, according to officials.
“More than 70 percent of today’s youth do not qualify for military service, and low aptitude accounts for nearly 10 percent of disqualifications,” Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Snow, commanding general for U.S. Army Recruiting said in the written news release. “So, yes, this program can help increase the number of young people who are eligible for military service, but more importantly, it helps improve the opportunities for success for all students, regardless of their desired career path.”
March2Success.com is available for free to anyone over the age of 13. Officials said no personal information is collected or shared. For more information, visit the March2Success website.
